music

Where there is art, there is also music. Every third Saturday of the month, the Gypsy Den Cafe hosts the Train Wreck Theatre; a mosh of singers, songwriters, and musicians playing their own songs and each others. Live music can be found at the Gypsy Den on Friday and Saturday nights. The style varies form jazz ensembles to acousic rock acts. Zoey's Trip was on the playbill in the picture to the left. During the art walk, a jazz trio often plays on the pation outside of Two's Company. And jazz events are often scheduled at the Grand Central Arts Center.

And for the offbeat, George Szabo of COB Incorporated sells drudgeridus, an Austrailian instrument with a deep, primitive sound. On Art Walk nights, drudgeridu fans and drummers make primitive music together for hours on the second floor of the Spurgeon Building. The Lights of Theatre, also on the second floor of the Spurgeon, hosts five bands once a month. The style varies. The bands in May had a Goth Punk flavor.
