Final Project Requirement - ONE CD-ROM to turn in per team
Game Design Document (2-3 page doc) - word file that contains narrative/story, gameplay, target demographics, hardware requirement, etc, as well as the names of the students in 401 class. Refer to lab 06 and lab 07 assignments and expand.
Game Layout Chart (psd, ai, pdf, or ms visio) - describes the flow of the games (download sample) and includes all the game screens and levels (i.e. title screen, game over screen, option, etc)
Game Asset List (xls) - includes every single item that is used in the game (download sample). Functionality description, designer (student) assignment must be included on each item. This document needs to cross-reference the Game Layout Chart to specify which object is used on which screen(s) and level(s).
Each team member is supposed to design at least five different objects, including one GUI element. Design in 1024 px x 768 px and turn in the full size version.
Image files - one PSD files per object. Must retain layers, clipping path and vector data. Organize image files using students' last names - one image folder per student i.e. "images_jones".
Animation files (if any) - turn in either Fireworks, PSD, GIF, SWF or FLASH files. Image sequence optimized for TGB is also acceptable. One animation folder per student - i.e. "animation_jones"
Standalone projector files generated by Torque Game Builder for both MAC and PC
Extra credit multimedia essay due: Monday December 15, 5:00 pm at LVL 113
Game Design Proposal/Document - A Video Game for Older Generation Female (age 60 and above/born in 1948 or before) Complete all the assigned reading before you begin.You essay needs to have the following 4 chapters (and sub-chapters if needed), with necessary images embedded.
Define the target demographics, analyze and describe the generation and its unique profile
Pick a marketable topic/theme
Define the specific hardware environment (i.e. iPod, PS3, Wii, XBOX 360 with Guitar hero controller, etc) and user interface.
Propose a video game that is specifically geared towards the target audience. Describe the game world and narrative, task and game play in detail. Make sure to include the description of GUI.
