  4. Lab 02
    - Start iTunes and browse to the App Store. Find Koi Pond by Blimp Pilots and read about it.

    - Download the screen captures from here (01, 02, 03, 04, 05).
    - Down load the Lab 02 worksheet.
    - Make a group of 4 or 5 students.
    - Each group needs to come up with a completely new game proposal based on the visual and the theme of Koi Pond. Browse other games in iTunes App Store for ideas and references.
    - Hardware controls available for iPhone and iPod Touch are: touch screen, shake and tilt (of the boby).
    - Make sure to define Graphic User Interface elements in the game. What are they telling the player, and where do they appear on the screen. This is the main objects that you will be desiging as Assignment 01.
    - Students skilled in Photoshop are listed below, to be distributed in different groups.

  5. HW 02
    - Based on the lab 02, create a flowchart that is unique to your group/proposal and upload to the class blog (one post per group).
    - Sample:

    - Download the PSD version of sample flowchart. Customize according to your game proposal, save as GIF or PNG, and post to the class blog. When posting, use "hw02 - <title of your proposed game> by <student names>" as the post title.
    - Each student is responsible for designing a comp/mock-up screen shot for at least one box on the proposed flow chart for the Assignment 01. When posting on the blog, indicate who is designing which box. A comp would consist of buttons, text and other GUI elements overlay on the screen capture (320px X 480px) in photoshop format. You can use these screen captures for your designs (01, 02, 03, 04, 05).

  6. Assignment 01
    - Due Monday, 9/15/08. Presentation to start at 6:40 pm.
    - Each student is responsible for designing a comp/mock-up screen shot for at least one box on the proposed flow chart. A comp would consist of buttons, text and other GUI elements overlay on the screen capture (320px x 480px) in photoshop format.
    - Turn in one PSD file per group. Do not flatten layers. Group the layer per students and name each group of layers with student names.
    - Revise the Lab02 and HW02 if necessary.
    - You will have 30 minutes next week (9/15) to compile the final PSD file to present/turn-in.
