Built
in 1929, the architecture of the Santora Building is "Churregeuresque"
Spanish Revival Style. The artistically inspiring historical
building is elegant and luxurious. The Broadway entrance features
decorative masonry and an iron gated terrazz0 floor lobby
entrance. Inside is a sweeping staircase. The second floor
speaks of grandeur with its stained glass skylights, and ornate
chandelier, and soaring columns. In the 1930's, there was
a jazz club in the basement, and Daniger's Tea Room, a "must
see" for visitors from out of town (Lucille Ball, for
one). The Daniger's Tea Room is now Pavon Studio.
Since
late 1994, The Santora Building of the Arts has been developing
into a collection of galleries, work studios, and art related
uses. It is at the center of the Artist Village, right across
the promenade from the Cal State Fullerton Grand Central Arts
Center. Poetry readings are held
in the basement on Thursday nights.

by Orange County Fine Arts, the oldest art league in Orange
County, the Legacy Art Gallery, and Misfit #9, all located
in the basement of the building. Santa Ana College Art Gallery
has an art gallery on the second floor. It is currently
featuring the "High School Invitational Show"
for all media. The show runs June 1st through August 17th.
